Could Bingo be biggest secret we have to motivating seniors?
It’s about time uncover this hidden treasure and run with it, to make more and more engaging events easy to run and fun to do. Each week, Thursday I’ll be sharing a little more about what I learn about this intriguing game.
This week’s thought: What happens when we acknowledge our residents attendance at all our events with a bingo mark? Would this small thing make a big difference getting folks out of their rooms and into our programs.
If you’d like to make bingo work for you, start with the most simple version of Bingo there is going here.
Steps:
1) Print out and post the Winner! posters everywhere
2) Print out a bingo card for each resident and put the name on the cards. Carry these in a folder with you.
3) When a resident attends an event, show them their card and tell them they can choose where you put a sticker or stamp. Award the residents who make a row.
You might be wondering why this is different than the complicated Bingo you are used to? There are a few good reasons to promote this as Bingo, and you will have to stay tuned to find out more…..for now we’ll just say we made Bingo simpler to help your residents win more, and who would want to argue with that?
